Why We Show When a Business Listing Was Last Checked
Small-business information changes quickly. Here is why freshness is visible on every profile.
Directory pages can look authoritative even when the information is years old. That is particularly unhelpful for small businesses, where opening status, prices, collection arrangements and social links can change quickly.
A date gives readers useful context
“Last checked” does not guarantee that every field is perfect. It tells you when the profile was last reviewed or reconfirmed, which is more informative than presenting all listings as equally current.
Owners can reconfirm details
Once a business has claimed its listing, the owner dashboard includes a simple confirmation control. Time-sensitive availability can be updated directly, while broader profile edits are sent for team review.
Readers can help too
If you spot a closed business, broken website, changed service area or obviously outdated price, use the correction link on the profile. We check the report before changing the listing.
Why we do not simply scrape everything
A huge automatically collected database can become stale very quickly. We would rather maintain a smaller set of profiles with visible freshness signals and clear correction routes.
